Bhopal: Due to Coronavirus, the economy of Madhya Pradesh has been greatly affected. Given this impact on the economy, the government is not in a position to bear any additional expenditure. In view of this, the Shivraj government has stopped the decision to give five percent dearness allowance. The decision to give dearness allowance from the salary of March was taken by Kamal Nath government on 16 March. Departments had also prepared for this, but on Friday, the Finance Department has given instructions to stop the implementation of the order. The Kamal Nath government had decided to give 17 percent dearness allowance to the employees of the state like the Center from July 1, 2019. Employees receiving the fifth pay scale of five percent dearness allowance were approved.

The Dearness Allowance for employees taking the second and sixth pay scales was increased from 154 percent to 164 percent. Increased dearness allowance was to be paid in March salary (payable in April).
