Today, on Friday, the first phase of voting for 2,726-gram panchayats is being held in Rajasthan. In the first phase, voting is being held for sarpanch, 26,800 ward panchs and 87 panchayat committees in 2726 out of more than 11 thousand panchayats of Rajasthan. According to media reports, in Rajasthan, despite being in three phases this time, more than four thousand panchayats will be held after getting the green signal from the voting court. This is also the first time that elections of Panch Sarpanch, Pradhan and District Chief i.e. Panchayat Samiti and District Councils are not being conducted simultaneously. This is because this matter is also under consideration in the court. It is believed that this time the voting process will go a long way.

On this matter, State Election Commissioner PS Mehra said that this time in the first phase panchayat elections, 17,242 candidates for the post of sarpanch and 42,000 candidates for the post of panch are trying their luck. As of now, 36 sarpanches and 11035 panch have been elected unopposed. He also informed that more than 11,000 machines are being used in elections.
