The Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the Election Commission on a petition filed by the Association for Democratic Reforms alleging discrepancies in the final counting of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the EVM. The bench headed by the CJI has sought a response from the poll panel for a hearing in February 2020. In fact, two NGOs had filed petitions regarding discrepancies in the Lok Sabha elections. On this, the Supreme Court has issued this order today.

For your information, let us know that the matter of election from EVM in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 has been taken to the Supreme Court by the Election Analysis Association ADR. ADR is an election analysis body. By filing a petition in the Supreme Court, the ADR has demanded that the Election Commission be directed to fully match the votes cast and the votes counted before announcing the final decision of any election. Election results should not be announced before this match.

Regarding the matter, the petitioner has demanded an inquiry into all such disturbances which have come out in the figures related to the results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the petition on the election process of the Election Commission, it has been said that the Election Commission announced the voting in the seven phases of 2019 Lok Sabha elections on its app MyVotors Turnout but in the seventh phase this data was not given. Only voting percentage was given. Not only this, the old voting data was also removed.
