The 25th of January 2023 is designated as National Voters Day. National Voters Day 2023 is a day set aside to honour those citizens of India who exercise their right to vote on election days, as the name of the holiday suggests. The day also emphasises getting younger people to vote voluntarily and responsibly. On January 25, 2023, India will commemorate its 12th National Voters Day.

History of National Voters Day 2023: The Indian government declared January 25th, going forward, to be National Voters Day in 2011. The Election Commission of India was created on January 25, 1950, hence the Indian government decided to commemorate the day to emphasise the significance of voting for Indian citizens. All Indian elections must be run by the Election Commission of India. Voting is open to Indian citizens who are at least 18 years old.

Importance of National Voters Day in 2023:  Indian citizens have the obligation as well as the right to vote. For the better government and India's development, it is the responsibility of the Indian citizen to vote for the best candidates during the elections. Therefore, National Voters Day is observed to raise awareness of the significance of elections and the voting process. The day also promotes and persuades young people to show up on election day and cast their ballots after doing their research.

The theme for National Voters Day in 2023: "Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative" is the theme of 2023.  The goal of National Voters Day 2023 is to encourage more people to vote in elections, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, or other characteristics. The Indian Election Commission also concentrates on measures to simplify and improve voter accessibility across the entire voting process.
