National Voters' day: EC and Facebook rolling out a new feature to remind voters

To mark the National Voters' day, Election Commission and Facebook announced rolling out a new feature on the Facebook that will send a reminder to users aged 18 years and above to take the pledge to vote.

Prime Minister  Modi greeted people on the national voter’s day. In his message, the Prime minister also appealed all the eligible voters, particularly youngsters, to register themselves and make stronger the democracy with their participation.

PM Modi also on his twitter handle shared a message to extend wishes on a historic day as saying

“I urge all the eligible voters, particularly youngsters, to register themselves and strengthen our democracy with their participation.The power of a vote is immense”, PM urged .

In another tweet PM said “Greetings to everyone on #NationalVotersDay. Congratulations to the Election Commission of India, which was founded on this day”, Pm tweeted.

National Voters' day is observed 25 Jan Every year. The objective of the day is to increase enrolment of voters, especially of the newly eligible ones. The day is also utilized to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process.

25th January is also the foundation day of the Election Commission, which came into being on this day in 1950. The Election Commission of India has urged people to join them in celebrating this day by taking the National Voters' Day Pledge.
