Nature wreaks havoc in Uttarakhand, Yamunotri highway closed due to rock erosion

Dehradun: Snowfall continues to lash the higher reaches of Yamunotri and Gangotri since Friday night. Many places in the mountains are cloudy. On the other hand, the Yamunotri highway has been closed due to landslides near Khaneda due to late-night rain. On Saturday, the Yamunotri highway was closed due to rock erosion near Khanera. Traffic on the highway has been disrupted since morning. Pilgrims to and from Yamunotri Dham are waiting for the highway to open. The machines of the NH are engaged in opening the highway.

The National Highway has claimed to have opened the highway soon for the movement of pilgrims. At the same time, intermittent rain has continued in the Yamuna Ghati area since late in the night. District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that the work of opening the highway is going on continuously.  

On the other hand, 36 sheep and goats were killed in a lightning strike at Changsil Bugyal in Mori block. The sheep goats of the villagers of the inner village of the Wild Life Centurion area are now in the Bugyal area on Chugan. Rajiv Kunwar, pradhan of the inner village, informed the local administration about it. The local administration has sent a team of revenue departments to the spot. Tahsildar Chaman Singh said that the Revenue Sub Inspector has been sent to the spot.
