New Delhi: The Congress is facing internal conflict in several states including Punjab and Chhattisgarh. Several senior leaders have expressed their displeasure over the decision to remove Amarinder Singh from the post of Punjab CM. Senior party leaders like Kapil Sibal have even said that no one knows who is taking decisions in the party. In an interview focused on these issues, former Union Minister Natwar Singh has said that Congress will disappear soon. He also claims that the party will not succeed anywhere in the five states where assembly elections are proposed next year. He has blamed the party's top family for the situation.

Natwar Singh, who was once close to former PM Rajiv Gandhi, said in his interview about the change in Punjab that what happened in Punjab should not have happened. He said the country needs a strong opposition at the moment, but Congress is not doing anything. Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi, he said those who do not have any post in the party are making decisions. This creates discontent in the party and sends a wrong message to the people also. Taking a dig at Priyanka Gandhi, she said that it was not right for her to interfere in the Punjab politics. He is in charge of UP so it was not proper for him to intervene in Punjab.

Natwar Singh said he appointed Navjot Singh Sidhu as the president of Punjab without knowing his history. Though Amarinder Singh had forbidden the high command for it, he was not heard. Natwar Singh has cited the Congress's high command as the reason for the party's destruction. Talking about the elections in 5 states, he said that if the party wins, it is good, but it is not expected. He believes that the party will have to face hardships in all five states.
