Amritsar: Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu reached the Indo-Pak border at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur, Punjab this morning and visited Gurudwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan from a distance and asked the governments of both the countries to open the Kartarpur corridor before Guruparva so that devotees could go to Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan and bow their heads.

In fact, on this day, two years ago, on 9th November 2019, the Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan was opened. This was the time when Sidhu also visited Pakistan and praised Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. At the same time, Punjab politics is also in turmoil. Punjab is not naming the internal strife of the Congress to end. After the tussle between Captain Amarinder Singh and Sidhu, there are now reports of clashes between CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Sidhu. Both are indirectly shooting sharp arrows of statements at each other. There are also reports that Sidhu may take a tough stand.

Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi has also demanded that the Kartarpur corridor be opened. He had also spoken on the issue during a recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi and demanded the opening of the corridor. Indeed, two years ago it was decided to close the corridor due to corona.
