Lucknow: Ahead of the assembly elections to be held in Punjab, there is a tussle between the state CM Charanjit Singh Channi-led Congress government and the party's state unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sidhu has been pressurizing the party high command to get himself declared as the CM candidate in the past. Now he is trying to dominate the election of party candidates and also in ticket distribution. It is believed that Sidhu is trying to get himself declared as the CM face of Punjab at any cost and for this, he is trying to put pressure on the high command through his statements from public forums.

He has already said that how will the procession be without a groom? The high command should announce the name of the CM face. Actually, Congress has declared Channi as the CM face in the state, but Sidhu, who stood in opposition to Channi from the beginning, is not recapitulating this. A few days ago, in a press conference, Sidhu had said that Congress's CM should not be decided by the high command, but the people will decide. Media reports quoting party sources said that the Congress high command, upset by Sidhu's statements, is silent due to the elections, as there is no time for action yet. The party now wants to focus its entire attention on the elections. Sources say that Sidhu is also upset over ticket distribution. That's why he is trying to create pressure. However, the party leadership is in no mood to discuss with him.

Earlier, Sidhu had even threatened that either the existing system of Punjab would not be there or he would not be there. He had said that 'He is working to destroy the system, which could not give justice to our guru and could not punish the big fish involved in the drug gang.' Meanwhile, the news is coming that Congress has prepared a list of 70 candidates for the Punjab elections. The sitting MLAs and ministers have been instructed to fight from their respective seats. At the same time, there is a tussle over the middle seats of Channi, Sidhu and Balram Jakhar. The announcement of names on these seats has been stopped. It is believed that today the Congress can announce the candidates at any time. However, Sidhu does not seem to be satisfied with these names. He was trying to interfere in ticket distribution. Now it has to be seen whether Sidhu is able to get his point across once again by putting pressure on the high command.
