Congress In Trouble! Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as Punjab Congress president

Amritsar: Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Punjab, a piece of big news is now emerging. In fact, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned as the president of the Punjab Congress unit. It may be recalled that amidst the ongoing tussle between former CM Captain Amarinder Singh and Sidhu, the Congress High Command had made Navjot Singh Sidhu the head of the Punjab unit.

However, Captain Amarinder was very upset with the Congress High Command's decision and added fuel to the fire when the Congress High Command demanded the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh. The Congress then appointed Charanjit Singh Channi as the new CM of Punjab, the first Sikh Dalit CM in the state. After changing the CM, it was believed that everything was going well in the Punjab Congress, but now Sidhu's resignation has once again embroiled the Congress politics.

Though it is not yet clear why Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned as the head of the Punjab Congress unit, it is clear that the infighting in the Punjab Congress has not subsided even now and the party may suffer in the coming assembly elections.
