Amritsar: The Congress party is claiming that everything is going well within the party in Punjab, but Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu's statements dash those claims. Sidhu hit out at his opponents within the party on Sunday without naming anyone saying he had earlier faced conspiracies by two former chief ministers and now another CM is trying to plot against him.

"There are many who are plotting against me," Sidhu said amid sloganeering from his supporters. In the past, two Chief Ministers tried to eliminate me, but they lost power. Now the third one is doing the same. But that too will disappear. He advocated stringent punishment for those involved in the incidents of cruelty. Sidhu further said, "Divisive forces are trying to create tension in the state as elections are coming. I urge everyone to be vigilant. Just choose those who want to serve the state in reality. The indignity of any holy book is unbearable and those involved should be hanged.''

Sidhu reiterated that after the formation of the Congress government in 2022, at least Rs 350 per day will be given to the workers under the Urban Labour Employment Mission in Punjab. Sidhu asked the police not to use any force to remove the protesters who repeatedly disrupted his speech. The protesters included unemployed youth and members of the Land Prapati Sangharsh Samiti.
