Amritsar: Punjab Congress unit chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has attacked his own government over drug abuse saying the state government has done nothing on the issue. In fact, Sidhu has issued a press note accusing his own party government of not doing anything about 13 drug smugglers even after the Punjab-Haryana High Court directions.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu shared the plight of thousands of victims of Punjab youth and thousands of victims who lost their children due to drug menace spread across the state by the notorious drug mafia and said they are the people of the same state. He said he is eagerly waiting for the Special Task Force (STF) report on Bikramjit Singh Majithia, brother-in-law of former Akali Minister and former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.

In fact, the said STF report on Majithia in the notorious Bhola drug racket worth Rs 6,000 crores is estimated to be opened by a division bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on September 2, 2021. The PPCC Chairman said that as the date approaches, all eyes are on the High Court and people, especially those who have lost their innocent children in drug menace, are hopeful that strict action will be taken against the main accused. He said the judiciary of the country has always proved to be a true protector of citizens.
