Navratri 2022: Aloo Fritters or Pakoda Recipe for Navrati Fast

The nine-day festival of Navratri dedicated to Mother Goddess Durga is just around the corner. During these nine days, devotees keep a fast after performing the Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana on the first day, i.e. Pratipada. The Shardiya Navratri in the Hindu month of Ashwin is the most important and significant of all Navratris (Magha, Chaitra and Ashadha).  Navratri is an auspicious festival, several people fast during the nine days.  Do you know there are significance of color, In Navratri it is said that some color hold certain importance for a particular day in Navratri. Well we love eating Sabudana but eating daily Sabudana is a tough task. Here is a recipe of Vrat Pakoda or fritters you can have during fast.
 
Ingredients
 
1 large Potato diced ( you can also increase the quantity)
2 green chilies minced
1/2 cup Singoda/Water Chestnut Flour depending on size of potato, may need a little extra
1/2 cup water depending on size of potato, may need little extra
1 tsp oil
Fast Salt according to your Taste
Peanut Oil for frying
 
Instructions
 
Wash and dice Potatoes.
Put oil in pan for frying. Let it became hot.
Meanwhile mix together all ingredients except salt. The batter should be dropping consistency,adjust flour and water accordingly.
In ONLY HALF batter, add salt and put small fritters in oil to fry. 
Take out on paper towel. To remove extra oil.
In second half of batter add salt and fry as before. Enjoy your Tasty fritters.
