Rajnandgaon: In Naxal-affected areas of the state by the police and security forces in Chhattisgarh are continuously running the Naxalite eradication campaign with full readiness. Its effect is also visible. Recently, many Maoists in the state have surrendered to the police. Impressed by the Naxal eradication campaign, a hardcore Naxalite operating in the Rajnandgaon area has surrendered. Naxalites had a reward of five lakh rupees. Naxalite Rajesh Toppa alias Ajit surrendered before Rajnandgaon police on Monday.

Police said the surrendered Naxalite was an active member of the Malajkhand Area Committee. Under the rehabilitation policy, Naxalites surrendered by IG Himanshu Gupta of Durg Range have been provided 10 thousand rupees incentive.
