Naxalites kill Sarpanch in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Naxalite incidents have increased in Chhattisgarh over the past several days. In the past, the Naxalites have carried out a series of killings and blasts. In the latest case, Naxalites stormed a village on Friday night and killed Sarpanch. The incident has been carried out in the small Gudara village of Naxal-hit Dantewada. Police are investigating the case and trying to find out why the Naxalites targeted sarpanch.

On Friday, a DRG jawan was seriously injured when a pressure bomb planted by Naxalites hit him in Bijapur district. The injured jawan has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Just a few days ago, an RSS leader was called from his house and shot dead by the Naxalites.

The Naxalites carried out the incident in Kanker district. About 25 armed naxalites had shot dead Sangh volunteer Daduram Koreti by taking him away from his house. Earlier, the Naxalites had killed BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi during the general elections. Five people, including the MLA, were killed in the attack. Mandavi was the only BJP MLA from Bastar region. Police later killed the Naxalite accused in the encounter.
