NCB to probe bribery allegations levelled against Sameer Wankhede in Aryan Khan case

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau announced has said that it will investigate the bribery allegations levelled by a witness against its Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede in the Aryan Khan case.

The Narcotics Control Bureau's Deputy Director-General Mutha Jain is expected to record Wankhede's statement while vigilance head Gyaneshwar Singh will carry out the investigation. Jain will analyze the evidence against Wankhede if any and will make a comprehensive report to file before NCB Director General SN Pradhan.

Sharing further details on the matter, “Gyaneshwar Singh, said: “A report from DDG SWR was received by our DG, he has marked an enquiry to vigilance section …Chief Vigilance officer will be dealing with the enquiry appropriately.  The enquiry has just commenced, not right to comment on any officer.” 

The row blown up after an independent witness in the Aryan Khan case,  Prabhakar Sail, who alleged private detective KP Gosavi had demanded Rs 25 crores from Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan to release his son Aryan. In his affidavit, Sail asserted that he heard a Rs 18 crore deal between Gosavi and Sam D'Souza, of which Rs 8 crore was to be paid to Wankhede.
