NCC contribution among youth exemplary: Defence General

NEW DELHI:  The NCC Republic Day Camp 2023 at Delhi Cantt in New Delhi was visited by the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on January 17. This is for the first time a Defence General has visited NCC Republic Day Camp.

Emphasizing the vast contributions of NCC in social awareness activities, Defence Staff General cited the ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ launched with the aim to clean up sea shores and beaches and remove and recycle plastic and other waste and spread awareness about the need for clean and pristine beaches and hazards of plastic pollution.

 "The campaign has captured the attention of the people, and to date, almost 13.5 lakh NCC cadets have engaged in the Abhiyan and collected almost 208 tonnes of plastic waste, of which 167 tonnes have been submitted for recycling." he said. He also complimented NCC for its 75th year of dedicated service to the nation. He also praised the exceptional performance displayed by NCC cadets in various sports events.

He went to the cadets' "Flag Area," which represented numerous social awareness topics and cultural activities.
The CDS also went to the NCC's freshly rebuilt "Hall of Fame," which boasts a vast archive of alumni photos, models, and other inspirational and beautiful objects from the school's three wings.
