Mumbai: NCP chief Sharad Pawar has taken aim at the Modi government by raising the issue of EVMS and surgical strikes. Pawar has said that PM Modi was trying to create a rift in the society by talking about the Pakistan attack. During the elections, we have been talking of nobles and 15 lakhs, but the BJP has been insisting on national security. People were worried about nationalism and hence they voted BJP. No one is talking about it after the elections.

Questioning EVMs, Sharad Pawar has said that EVMs, which show Vvpat slips, are not placed before the election officer. The votes that are counted are from another machine. So what you see in the Vvpat may not be the same. Two companies work for setting up EVMs. We will discuss this with the technicians and opposition parties in Delhi.

Pawar has said that if people discover that the votes they are giving are not going for their favourite candidate, they can now lodge a protest. These people can go ahead and take the law into hand. We should not allow that to happen. It is a matter of fact that Pawar's nephew and former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar has refuted questions over EVMs. Ajit said that when we lose, we blame the EVMS, but when we win, we take credit for it. This is utterly wrong.
