Mumbai:  Amid speculations of a rift in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has made a big statement today, i.e., on Sunday. Raut has claimed that his party chief, Uddhav Thackeray, has been assured by Sharad Pawar that the NCP will not forge an alliance with the BJP, even if some MLAs leave the party.

In his weekly column Rok Thok, published in Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana, Sanjay Raut has written that "Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar met on Tuesday. He (Pawar) said that no one wants to leave the party, but their families are being targeted. According to media reports, Sanjay Raut further wrote in Saamana that 'Sharad Pawar said that if someone wants to take a personal decision, then it is his decision. But as a party, we will not make the decision to go with the BJP.

Raut wrote that "people in Maharashtra are fed up with the current government. Both Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray believe that those who go with the BJP will be committing political suicide. Referring to an issue raised by Sharad Pawar, Raut said, 'Sharad Pawar said: Those who are leaving the party out of fear of the BJP, I want to tell them that when they join the BJP, your files will go to the cupboard. But these ED-CBI files can never be closed.
