The Supreme Court of India on Wednesday heard the case of violence erupted during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Expressing concern over the Delhi violence, the court cited the Prakash Singh judgment of the Supreme Court regarding police reform and said that the police should be free to act. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that when we talk about Prakash Singh, we forget the ground reality. The Supreme Court has not given any order. The court said that the police and administration should be allowed to work. The court is neither giving orders nor stopping it.
