In the rape case of a JNU student, a cab driver, Delhi Women's Commission Chief Swati Jayahind has taken cognisance and asked the Delhi Police tough questions. She said, it is a very shocking incident. The incident of rape of the girl was only due to the negligence of the police. The police were off the road. The police are not investigating. Therefore, she sought information about the progress made so far in the case along with the FIR copy.
According to media reports, Swati Zahid has also sought information from the Delhi Police on her route on which the victim was rotated for three hours. In this case, it is learnt that the cab driver had committed the rape by injecting the victim first. On the night of 4th August, a JNU student was raped by a cab driver by intoxicating her. Meanwhile, the girl was walking on the streets of Delhi for more than three hours and then hurled her away near the IIT.

The victim is originally from UP. She was returning from the friend's birthday party. At about 8 p.m., the young woman took a cab to go to JNU from outside a temple on the temple road. The incident took place after the incident. The Temple Marg Police is combing CCTV cameras to identify the cab and the driver based on the statement of the girl. Police say the girl is still under influence of intoxication.
