Amidst the nationwide lockdown and the havoc of Corona, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Dr Randeep Guleria has said that most people do not come forward for the Corona test. The risk of the patient's life is increased only when the treatment starts late. If this disease is diagnosed in a patient soon, then its treatment is easy.

In a press conference on this important matter on Thursday, Dr Guleria said that in Corona 80 percent of cases, medicines are effective. In 15 percent of the cases, oxygen is required along with medicines. Five percent of the patients are serious who need ventilators and other equipment. He said that 90 to 95 percent of the patients affected by Covid-19 are recovering.

He said that in many centres of the country, patients suffering from corona are being treated with plasma therapy. This plasma is taken from those who have recovered after beating the corona. Many of the cured people are coming forward and donating blood to save the lives of others. Right now Corona patients are facing discrimination with many challenges.

This is not right. Despite having symptoms like corona, people are not coming out. They reach the hospital only when their health is very bad. Dr Guleria said that many of these patients can be saved only by giving them oxygen. Patients who have pneumonia with an infection may have a heart attack or neurological problem due to lack of oxygen in the blood. That is why we also arrange beds equipped with oxygen facility.
