New Delhi: The National Crime Records Bureau i.e. NCRB released the report of crime incidents across the country. The NCRB has issued this report with a delay of one year. The report released 2017 figures. In this report statistics of almost every category of crime are given.

The special thing of the report is that this time misleading (fake) news has also been classified as a crime. According to official records, 257 cases have been registered. According to the report, Madhya Pradesh stood first in the case of spreading fake messages. There were 138 case reports here.

UP was second with 32 and Kerala third with 18 cases. Only four cases of fake news were reported in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first time the government has compiled data on such crimes under Section 505 of the Indian Penal Code. Offenses were registered under Section 505 with the IT Act.
