NEW DELHI: The National Career Service (NCS) portal recorded the highest number of vacancies during 2022-23 with nearly 35.7 lakh posts having been reported by employers on it, compared to 13 lakh vacancies in 2021-22. 

A 175% rise in vacancies reported to National Career Service in 2022–2023 compared to 2021–2022 is seen. Moreover, the number of open positions in 2022–2023 was at its greatest, with more than 5.3 lakh as of October 30, 2022.

The increase in vacancy postings on National Career Service has been observed across all sectors. In comparison to the 2.2 lakh openings in 2021–2022, the finance and insurance sector experienced a tremendous surge of more than 800%, posting 20.8 lakh vacancies in 2022–2023 instead.  3.75 lakh vacancies were reported in 2022–23, a 400% increase over the 76,000 vacancies reported in 2021–22 in the operations and support sector.

The number of openings in industries like manufacturing, health, education, and hospitality increased dramatically between 2022 and 2023 compared to the prior year. The NCS site will also mark the anniversary of its establishment in 2022–2023 by registering more than a million employers. In 2022–2023, there were more than eight lakh registered employers overall.

The maximum registrations of employers were from the service sector (6.5 lakh) which was followed by the employers from the manufacturing sector.
