Lockdown extended till May 31 across the country: NDMA issued guideline

New Delhi: Lockdown in the country has been extended till 31 May. This has been confirmed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). A new guideline in this regard has been released this evening. Accordingly, states have been empowered to take decisions in the Red Zone, Green Zone and Orange Zone. According to the new guidelines, schools and colleges will remain closed.

Also, religious places, shopping malls, stadiums, commercial centers will remain closed. Inter state bus services have been allowed, but for this the consent of both the states has to be agreed. After this, Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba will hold talks with the Chief Secretaries of the state through video conference at 9 pm tonight. The Authority (NDMA) has directed the Ministries / Departments of the Government of India, State Governments and State Authorities to pursue the lockdown till 31 May 2020.

The fourth phase of lockdown will start from Monday. Earlier, Karnataka, Punjab, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have decided to extend the lockdown till May 31. According to the latest news, West Bengal has also decided to continue the lockdown. Notification will be released here tomorrow. Let us know that the third phase of lock down is ending tonight.
