Cyclone Tauktae: NDRF issues alert in these areas, Vistara and Indigo cancelled flights

As cyclone Taukate nears, Lakshadweep is building low pressure areas over the Islands and the Arabian Sea. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is ready with its teams in the risk areas. On the other hand, Vistara and IndiGo have decided to cancel the flights in view of adverse weather conditions. Anupam Srivastava, Commandant, NDRF said, "3 teams are deployed in Mumbai, 1 in Goa, 14 in Pune. At a distance of 250 km, the storm Tauktae will reach Maharashtra by tonight or tomorrow morning. It is going to stay away from the West Coast so its impact will be very small. '

In view of the bad weather, Vistara and IndiGo Airlines have also warned of flights to Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Ahmedabad. In fact, a powerful cyclonic storm Tauktae is likely to hit by Sunday. The Met department has said that the cyclone is expected to hit the coasts of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Kerala in the next 4 days which is prone to floods in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

CWC said the water level is going to reach the danger mark. Manimala (Manimala), Achankovil (Achankovil) and Kodeyar (Kodaiyar) rivers have been inundated in Tamil Nadu at 8 am today. IMD said the storm will hit the Gujarat coast on the morning of May 18.
