Paris Olympics 2024: Defending Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has arrived in Paris, ready to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games. The javelin thrower, who secured India's only gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, shared his excitement about reaching the Olympic Games village with his teammates.
On social media, Neeraj posted, "Namaskar, Paris! Excited to finally reach the Olympic Games village." The 26-year-old athlete also left an encouraging note for his fellow Indian athletes on the 'Wall of Positivity' in the village, stating, "This is the time for the performance."
Neeraj is set to compete in the Men's Group A Javelin Throw Qualification Round at Stade de France on August 6. Fans across India are hopeful for another gold medal from this star athlete.
Neeraj made history in Tokyo by becoming the first Indian track and field athlete to win an individual gold medal. He followed in the footsteps of Abhinav Bindra, who won the gold in the 10m air rifle competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
