Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mahakavi Gopaldas 'Neeraj' were good friends. Both of them studied at the DAV College in Kanpur. During college days, Atal and Gopal Dass were getting together and during that time the two became well acquainted with each other. Gopal Das was known for his great astrology skills. Gopal Das had once said that his and Vajpayee's horoscope had a lot of similarities.

In the year 2009, Gopal Das had made a quite a controversial statement in his prediction. He had said that his death would be followed by the death of Vajpayee Ji and their deaths would not differ more than a month. The country is left shocked when the predictions of the Neeraj have come true.

 On July 19, Gopal Das had said goodbye to the world and Atal Bihari passed away on the 16th of August.

Neeraj had also predicted that both of them will have to face serious diseases in their last time and this proved to be true too.

Gopal Das Neeraj had been a renowned poet and was rewarded with honors a lot of time, for his contribution in the field of literature and art.

 Gopal Das has written many songs which were greatly appreciated. Similarly, Atal Bihari Vajpayee too has achieved success in the field of politics also literature.
