New Delhi: The Supreme Court has categorically refused to hear a plea seeking to postpone NEET exam. According to the information received, the NEET exam is now scheduled to be held across the country on September 13. The Supreme Court has dismissed some petitions last Friday. The court gave permission to conduct the examinations, but after that, the court was asked to reconsider.

A bench comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan, BR Gavai and Krishna Murari had said, "We have looked carefully at the review petitions and the associated papers. We found the review petition redundant and rejected it." The petition was filed by six ministers from opposition-ruled West Bengal, Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

The petitioners had argued that the NEET exam should be postponed. The court had turned to protect the students appearing for JEE exam, and to protect the right to life. While challenging the August 17 order, the petitioners said, "Failed to balance the equally important aspects for conducting exams and maintaining the safety of the students. Failed to ensure mandatory safety measures during the conduct of the exam".
