In the latest developments regarding the NEET UG Exam and UGC NET June 2024, the Ministry of Education has initiated a high-level panel on examination reforms chaired by former ISRO chief R Radhakrishnan. The panel, established by the Central government, aims to tackle ongoing controversies surrounding alleged irregularities in examinations.

According to a senior Ministry of Education official, the panel is inviting input and suggestions from stakeholders, including students and parents, until July 7, 2024. Suggestions can be submitted through the mygov platform.

Key objectives of the committee include proposing reforms to enhance the examination process, bolstering data security protocols, and evaluating the operations of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Additionally, the Special CBI Court in Patna had recently ordered Chintu Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, accused in the NEET question paper leak case, to be remanded in CBI custody for three days.

Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions have been adjourned until July 1, 2024, due to opposition protests demanding a discussion on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2024).

The parliamentary commotion ensued after President Droupadi Murmu highlighted the paper leak issue during her address to the joint sitting of Parliament on Thursday. She assured that the government is committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the recent paper leaks and ensuring severe penalties for those found guilty.

The initiative follows mounting concerns over the fairness and integrity of examination procedures nationwide.
