Gujarat is yet to recover from the second wave of the Covid epidemic that one case after another is coming to light for violation of the epidemic guidelines. Police have detained its operator in connection with the collection of more than 500 children in a single hall in a coaching class at Jasdan in Rajkot. Jaisukh Sankhlwa, director of a coaching centre and hostel run under the name Alpha at Jasdan in Rajkot district of Gujarat, was collecting about 550 children in a single hall for the coaching of the entrance examination for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sainik School.
The video started going viral in the internet. Superintendent of Police Balram Meena said that on receiving the information, the police raided the spot and arrested Jaisukh for violating the Epidemic Act, IPC and police circular.
Deputy Inspector of Police J H Sisodia said that the students were gathered in a hall without keeping a physical distance. Jaisukh told the media that he has been running the coaching since May 15 and it was the parents who have sent the children to study.
