Karauli: A week after the Hindu New Year procession was attacked by radical Muslims in Karauli, Rajasthan, the victims of this incident are now coming forward to narrate the violence that happened to them. While talking to the media channel Republic Bharat, a victim told that on the occasion of Hindu New Year, Muslims brutally attacked. They were waiting for the Hindus on the roofs of their houses.

 

A victim told the media that, 'That day the Hatwara market was closed suspiciously and Muslims were already waiting for the procession to arrive on their terrace. We thought they had gathered there to watch the procession. But as soon as our procession reached the Muslim-dominated area, stone-pelting started from there. Hindus riding bikes were stoned. More than 40-50 people involved in the procession got seriously injured. One of the victims told that he was in the front line of the Ram Rath Yatra and as soon as he came forward to rescue the children, he was attacked and stabbed seven times. 

 

He told that, 'I was trying to save the Hindus trapped in the situation of riots, more than 50 people came out from the street of the mosque with sharp weapons, sticks and sticks and ran towards us. He mercilessly attacked the Hindus attending the rally. I was attacked and suffered serious injuries including multiple fractures. The victim told that he also has videos of this incident. He said, 'When I was rescuing the children, local Muslim leader Mushtaq stabbed me in the back. Mushtaq is also a government employee. We know everyone who attacked. Muslims attacked us with sharp weapons, Hindus who were trying to escape for their lives were beaten up badly by a violent mob.'

Not only this, during the violence in Karauli on Ram Navami, at least 5-7 trolleys were pelted on Hindus. Hindus who had earlier attacked, looted their shops and set ablaze their shops, they (Hindus) say that they are in danger of life from the radical Muslims and they do not want to live in this area anymore. The victims had told that on Saturday afternoon, Muslims took out a rally and gathered in the evening and attacked the shops of Hindus. After looting there, the accused set the shops on fire. The Hindus claimed that all the attackers were of Muslim acquaintances, as they had been their neighbors for many years. Fearing attack from Muslims, many victims have decided to leave the Hatwara market.

A shop and a bike were set ablaze after stone-pelting at a bike rally passing through a Muslim-dominated area on April 2, 2022, on the occasion of Hindu New Year (Nav Samvatsar) in Phota Kot area of ​​Karauli district. Due to which tension had spread in the area. 43 people including policemen were injured in this attack. Four policemen involved in the rally were also injured due to stone pelting at the bike rally. It was told in the report that knife marks were found on the body of the injured who reached the hospital.
