New Delhi: February 14, 2019... No Indian can forget this date, it was the same day when a fidayeen terrorist attack took place on the convoy of CRPF jawans moving fast on the Jammu-Srinagar highway and 40 brave soldiers of India attained gallantry. Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack in the Lethpora area near Awantipora in Pulwama district, after which India taught Pakistan a lesson for this 'nefarious act within just 12 days.' On February 26, India had killed several Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists by carrying out a Balakot airstrike. Since the Pulwama attack, there was an outrage against Pakistan across the country.

In fact, terrorists secretly targeted the convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on their way to the national highway in Pulwama. On the afternoon of February 14, 2019, a 300 kg explosive-laden car hit the CRPF vehicle and blew up the convoy. After the terror attack, the jawans were admitted to the local military hospital, but a large number of jawans died on the spot. Within a few minutes of the incident, it began to be condemned all over the world. The name of the terrorist who carried out the incident was Adil Ahmad Dar. Along with this, terrorists like Sajad Bhatt, Mudsir Ahmad Khan, etc. were also involved in the attack, who was later killed by the army. The case was investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), in which it filed a chargesheet of over 13,500 pages.

After the Pulwama terror attack, there was both sorrow and anger in the whole country. After losing the brave sons of India, almost everyone wanted the death of the terrorists involved in the attack as soon as possible. The CRPF had also said that it will neither forgive nor forget those responsible for the attack. The CRPF wrote in a tweet that, 'I will neither forgive nor forget.' After the terrorist attack, PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to the martyred soldiers. The mortal remains of the martyred soldiers were brought by a special aircraft of the Air Force to the Palam Air Force area where many big ministers including the then Home Minister and present Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were present. The mortal remains of the martyrs were wrapped in tricolour.

After this terrorist attack, India took revenge within just 12 days. On February 26, 2019, around 3 pm, 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed's terror hideouts at Balakot. According to sources, 300 terrorists, who were fed by Pakistan, were killed in the attack. Thousands of kilograms of bombs were dropped on terror targets in this airstrike.
