A tragic bus accident in Nepal has claimed the lives of 27 Indian pilgrims, mostly from Maharashtra's Jalgaon district, after the vehicle plunged off a highway into the Marsyangdi River. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to transport the bodies of the victims back to India.

The bus was part of a pilgrimage tour carrying 43 passengers from Pokhara to Kathmandu when the unfortunate incident occurred. Sixteen passengers died on the spot, while 11 more succumbed to their injuries during treatment, according to local authorities. The remaining injured were swiftly airlifted to Kathmandu and are receiving treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

The group of pilgrims had recently visited Ayodhya and were on a 10-day tour of Nepal. Tragically, the accident cut short their journey, leaving families in deep sorrow.
