Kathmandu: A Tara Air aircraft has lost contact in Nepal. The plane took off on Sunday morning. According to airport officials, tara air's double engine aircraft took off from Pokhara to Jomsom this morning. The last time the plane was contacted was at 9.55 a.m. Officials said the plane was only on a 15-minute flight and had 22 passengers on board. Tara Air Company mainly flies twin otter aircraft made in Canada.
According to the local media of Nepal, there are also 4 Indian and 3 Japanese nationals on board the missing plane. All the rest were Nepalese nationals, with a total of 22 passengers, including the crew, on board the aircraft. According to the media, the officials are constantly trying to get in touch. Jomsom is a popular route for foreign climbers who trekked on mountainous terrains.
Indian and Nepali pilgrims visit the revered Muktinath temple in large numbers.
