Ahmedabad: A plan is being worked out to connect the Sharda river (Sharda River) flowing in the Himalayan region of the Indo-Nepal border with the River Yamuna. In fact, the government has identified nepal's Sharda river to connect with yamuna under the River Jodo scheme. With this, work is now underway to realize the 'Bhagirathi' effort to bring it to Rajasthan, Haryana and Gujarat.

If all happens as per the prescribed plan, 4 major states, including Gujarat, will start getting water from the river in the next 15 to 20 years. However, this project for collection of rivers will be possible only under the Sharda-Yamuna-Rajasthan-Sabarmati link project. In fact, the feasibility report of the project has been prepared, which is expected to cost an estimated rs 100,000 crore. On the other hand, uttar pradesh, haryana, rajasthan and gujarat will get the most benefit from this project.

With this, feasibility report of 'Sharda-Yumna-Rajasthan-Sabarmati Link Project' has been created. Meanwhile, work on the next phase may begin after completion of the dam project on the Pancheshwar river in Nepal. However the total length of the project is 1835 km. It will try to divert more water flowing towards himalayan rivers to needy regions.
