Netflix disclose that Sony and LG TVs are the first to collect its 2016 Netflix suggested TV seal of approval on Monday. Now in its second year, Netflix Recommended TV was set up to perceive the best smart TVs out there for easy-of-use and performance, and of course those that are the best for binge-watching Netflix.

According to Variety Netflix has introduced seven criteria as part of the 2016 program, which it hopes will push manufacturers to improve their products. Manufacturers have to meet five out of seven of these criteria to meet the standard, although the criteria do include whether the latest Netflix app is available and how fast the app can be launched.

Brady Gunderson who is Netflix's director of platform product management  did comment however that, "The vast majority of the features we are working on benefit all internet TV services."

And as well as announcing that Sony and LG are the first to be recognized by Netflix Recommended TV, the company has also announced that the program will now be going global.
