Netflix, one of the largest OTT platforms in India, has thrown a new dice to gain a foothold among the Hindi strip audience, while Viacom18 Media, one of the largest entertainment companies in India, is looking for fresh Hindi content. The group has joined hands. With this, according to reports, the deal to produce 10 Hindi shows between these two companies has been finalized. With this, Netflix has been trying to deal with Viacom18 for a long time to get local content. If all goes well with this deal, the deal will help propel Netflix further from platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Disney Plus Hotstar.

For your information, let us know that the deal is not exclusive to Netflix's Viacom 18, while Viacom 18 will continue to make content for other platforms as well. Tipping Films, a subsidiary of this company, has produced the Netflix series Shea, Jamtara and Taj Mahal 1989, besides OTT platform Amazon Prime Video has proven itself to be a leader among Indian viewers. In this phase of lockdown, the platform announced the simultaneous release of eight films in the vernacular languages of India, which together has led to a good increase in subscribers of the platform. At the beginning of the lockdown, Prime Video also made some of its content available for free in different parts of India.

On the other hand, Disney Plus Hotstar has also bought eight big and small budget Hindi films which they can announce on the upcoming Monday or Tuesday. . In addition, Netflix CEO Reid Hastings himself stated in December last year that his company plans to invest around $ 400 million in India during 2019-20. In an effort to increase viewership of his platform in India and increase the subscriber count, he has given some good shows like 'Sacred Games' and 'Lust Stories'. Along with this, he has also given a plan of Rs 199 per month for mobile subscribers only. Yet Netflix needs huge success in India.
