A few days back, there were certain reports being circulated in media about Sonam Kapoor replacing Taapsee Pannu in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, on Anil Kapoor’s recommendation. Now, putting all rumors to rest, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the producer of the movie, has officially broken his silence and cleared the air.

In a statement, Chopra has claimed that Sonam was always the first choice and was in fact, the first actor to come on board, even before her father Anil Kapoor. “This is to address all the media reports that have been floating around in the media about Taapsee Pannu being the offered Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. I am the producer of the film and I have never met her in my life. Sonam was the first person cast in the film even before Anil Kapoor. This clarification is a matter of principle. Articles like this undermine the movie-making process and are making a mockery out of a film that means a lot to us and the whole LGBTQ community,” said Vidhu Vinod Chopra in his statement.

On the film front, Sonam Kapoor would next be seen opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Abhishek Sharma's The Zoya Factor, which is slated for a June 14 release.
