Visakhapatnam: The team of Waltair Division and Business Development Unit (BDU) of CONCOR together, under the concept of First Mile Last Mile (FMLM) transport from Visakhapatnam to CONCOR bound for Dapper (ICDP)/Punjab by Cargo Stuffing at Factory Premises, First rake of Heavy Melting Steel (HMS) cargo dispatched to CONCOR Multi Modal Logistics Park.

To facilitate hassle free movement of containers on trailers, without compromising on the safety of train movement, by making minor modifications in the height gauges at the level crossing gates, to switch from road traffic to rail mode, as it is safer and faster. . Divisional Railway Manager Waltair Anoop Kumar Satpathy flagged off the first run of the goods train at the CONCOR siding on Thursday.

The DRM congratulated the team members and appreciated the collective efforts of the officials as well as the stakeholders. Speaking on the occasion, the DRM said, “The revenue earned by Railways covering a distance of about 2,000 km from this freight movement will be Rs 38.78 lakh per rake. The estimated traffic for the same freight will be an average of two rakes per month. We are in Waltair Division. And this win-win venture of CONCOR will soon run at least 10 rakes."
