In the state Congress, the party's various decisions have begun to escalate. Not only has senior Congressmen openly raised their voices against state president Sheila Dikshit and her supporters, but the three acting presidents and state in-charges have also jumped into the fray. This has put pressure on Sheila to withdraw all recent decisions.

Despite Sheila's absence, the controversy deepened on Saturday over the state Congress announcing 14 district and 280 block observers on her behalf. Former MLA Nasib Singh, Hari Shankar Gupta, Chau. Matin Ahmed, Surendra Kumar, Chau. About 24 party leaders, including Brarupal, Asif Mohammed Khan, State Women's Congress President Sharmitha Mukherjee, AICC member Om Prakash Bidhuri and Chattar Singh, gathered at a restaurant in Connaught Place. In the nearly hour-long meeting, everyone unanimously protested that decisions in the state Congress, one after the other, were being taken which are detrimental to the party.

According to media reports, district and block supervisors were also not appointed by consensus. These leaders said that Sheila Dikshit has been hospitalized for the past 10 days. Such decisions are being taken in their absence. After the meeting, nearly half of them reached their residence to meet state in-charge PC Chackau. He submitted a memorandum to Chackau urging him to take cognizance of the situation in the state. A copy of the memorandum has also been sent to the party's acting President Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary KC Venugopal.
