Bhopal: After Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in Madhya Pradesh, African Swine Flu has also knocked. This has been confirmed in 10 samples sent from Rewa to the High Security Animal Research Laboratory (Nishad) present in Bhopal on Friday, but the officials of the Veterinary Department are saying that they are not aware about this. This disease has come for the first time in the state. It kills most of the infected pigs. As a precaution, all pigs that come within one kilometre of the affected pigs are killed so that the disease does not progress.

Earlier, in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, West Bengal and Northeast states, pigs were confirmed to be infected with this disease after an investigation in Nishad. This disease is spread through infection. Affected pigs have a fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, and red rash in the ears and stomach. Due to being highly contagious, other pigs that come in contact quickly become vulnerable to this disease, so pigs that come within a radius of one km are killed. Although there have been no reported cases of transmission of this disease from pigs to humans, as a precaution not to eat pork and pig owners are advised not to go beyond one kilometre of the affected area.

In the same state, the cases of lumpy skin disease in animals are also increasing. 5 districts of the state are in its grip. First of all, it has been confirmed in Ratlam this month. JN Kansotia, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department said that so far 165 cases have been confirmed from the lab in the state. Let us tell you that about 10 percent of animals infected with this disease die. With the formation of lumps in the body of cattle, there is fever and cold.
