New electrified engines for the Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLE Coupe are launched

New DelhI: The facelifted GLE and GLE Coupe SUVs have been unveiled by German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz for the international market. Both SUVs are anticipated to reach India soon. With a 48V Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), 4MATIC all-wheel drive, and a slightly updated front fascia, the updated SUVs now have electrified petrol and diesel powertrains.

The mid-size luxury SUV Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly known as the M-Class, was introduced in 1997. The vehicle gained notoriety when a modified pre-production model was spotted in The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

In order to synchronise the names of its SUV nameplates, the automaker rebadged the vehicle as GLE in 2015. Electrified powertrains are included in the updated model to capitalise on the current trend.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLE Coupe have a conventional SUV shape and are distinguished by a long, chiselled bonnet, sleek LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a sizable chrome-studded grille, a raked windscreen, and a wide air dam. ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and designer alloy wheels surround the sides of the SUVs. At the back, wraparound LED taillamps are an option.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLE Coupe are available with a variety of engines, including a 3.0-liter, inline-six, turbocharged diesel engine with a 48V ISG (367 horsepower/750 Newton metres), a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, mild-hybrid turbo-petrol unit (381 horsepower/500 Newton metres), a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, petrol-electric setup (380 horsepower/600 Newton metres), and a 2.0-liter, inline-

Interior features of the Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLE Coupe include a five-seater, opulent cabin with ventilated seats, leather upholstery, multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, a wireless charger, and a steering wheel with paddle shifters wrapped in leather. They include MBUX and an updated infotainment panel. A number of airbags and ADAS features protect passengers.

The GLE and GLE Coupe's pricing and availability information has not yet been released by Mercedes-Benz. Both SUVs are anticipated to reach Indian soil in the near future. We anticipate them to cost more than the models of their current generation.
