Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said that the all-new electric Porsche Macan will be introduced next year. He did not, however, reveal any other information on the future electric car. Blume went on to say that the sports automaker has devised a flexible approach for introducing new models in each of the brand's sectors, including as internal combustion engines, hybrids, and electric cars.

In a recent interview, the CEO also discussed how the company's model 911 is part of its long-term goal. "What's crucial to note is that when we talk about hybrid for this car, we're not talking about a plug-in hybrid." It's primarily about motorsport elements, such as extremely dynamic hybrid drives with great recuperation performance," Blume explained. He stated that once the Porsche 911 hybrid is ready, the business would announce its availability.

When asked if the firm has set a precise date for the end of ICE car production, Blume stated that no date has been set. "At the end of the day, it's up to the customers and global regions." For us, the unique challenge is to produce internal combustion engines that run on synthetic fuels almost CO2-neutral. We are investing in the development of e-Fuels to this goal," he added.

Concerning the rise of Covid-19 cases and the semiconductor supply situation, Blume stated that the dual crisis is providing a challenge for the carmaker, but that the brand is well-equipped. "Our employees' health is our number one priority." "By all accounts, the coronavirus and the semiconductor scarcity will continue to pose significant challenges for us this year," he said.
