New Feature: ChatGPT Users Can Now Easily Bring GPTs into Conversations

OpenAI has introduced an exciting new feature to ChatGPT, allowing users to seamlessly integrate GPTs into their conversations. By simply tagging the desired GPT with the '@' command, users can bring in different GPTs to address various needs, all while ensuring they have the full context of the ongoing discussion.

This latest update announced through a post on X (formerly Twitter), opens up possibilities for more dynamic and tailored interactions within ChatGPT. However, it's important to note that this feature is currently exclusive to paying customers of OpenAI. So, while the potential for enhanced conversational experiences is promising, it's not yet accessible to all users.

Earlier this month, OpenAI unveiled the GPT store, a platform akin to an app store, where users can discover and utilize a wide array of custom GPTs. Since its inception at the developer conference approximately three months ago, over 3 million unique versions of ChatGPT have been generated.

The GPT store represents a strategic move by OpenAI to empower developers to create and share their own GPTs, potentially leading to monetization opportunities down the line. However, before such plans can materialize, the company aims to bolster the adoption of GPTs.

Despite the innovation brought forth by the GPT store, data from Similarweb, as reported by TechCrunch, indicates that custom GPTs currently constitute only a small fraction (2.7%) of overall traffic on the OpenAI website. Moreover, this figure has been on a downward trend since the launch of GPTs.

For those unfamiliar, Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs) are customized iterations of ChatGPT tailored to specific user requirements. Users can create these chatbots to suit their individual needs and then share them with others for utilization.

As OpenAI continues to refine its offerings and explore avenues for expansion, the integration of GPTs into conversations marks another step forward in revolutionizing AI-driven interactions.
