New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the new Parliament building. The new Parliament building was inaugurated with Vedic legislation. Prominent people of different religions were also present on the occasion. Prime Minister Modi also installed the Rajdand Sengol near the Speaker's chair in the Lok Sabha. Earlier on Saturday, 21 saints from Dharmapuram Adhinam (priest) of Chennai in Tamil Nadu arrived in Delhi. On the eve of the inauguration, the mahant of Adhinam handed over the golden scepter (Sengol) to the PM amid chanting of mantras.
The same saints also gave a special gift to Modi. Modi sought blessings from the saints and felicitated them. The issue on which the opposition was linking the inauguration of the new Parliament building to politics on the BJP, its stakes have turned upside down. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh read out the message of President Draupadi Murmu. Reading out the President's message, she read out that it was a matter of satisfaction that the new Parliament building was being inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During this, PM Modi said - Parliament House has worked to provide employment to about 60,000 workers. A digital gallery dedicated to their labour has also been created. Today, when we are celebrating by observing lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, I am satisfied that we have also built more than 30,000 new panchayat buildings in the country. From Panchayat Bhawan to Parliament House, our loyalty is the same.
