NEW DELHI: As part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, a new triangular-shaped Parliament House building is being built, which is spread over 65,000 sq meter. The new building will have many modern facilities and will also be bigger than the current Parliament building.

The construction of the new Parliament building, which is being built for a cost of Rs 1,200 crore, is predicted to be finished by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. The winter session, which will take place in November and December, is anticipated to take place in the new Parliament building at the same time.

With 888 seats available for Lok Sabha members, the new structure will feature larger legislative chambers. The Rajya Sabha, on the other hand, will have 326 seats. In a combined session, 1,224 members may be seated next to one another. Compared to the current Lok Sabha, the new one would be three times bigger, making it easier for MPs to sit. It is based on the national bird, the peacock. A larger Rajya Sabha Hall will also be available, with a 384-seat capacity. It is based on the national flower, the lotus.

Modern Constitutional Hall, ultra-modern office space, spacious committee rooms, and a bigger and better library will all be features of the new Parliament House.

The new House will incorporate the cultural and regional arts and crafts of the nation to reflect the vitality and diversity of contemporary India. The structure will also be accessible to those with disabilities (accessible to people with disabilities). People with disabilities will be able to move around freely and independently.
