New Pragati Maidan to host G-20 world Summit in 2023: Piyush Goyal

New Delhi:  India is going to chair the G20 grouping in the year 2023. This will be the first time that the G20 meet will be going host by India in the year 2023. Meanwhile, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday that the new Pragati Maidan will host the G-20 World Meeting in 2023. Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that under the leadership of PM Modi, the G-20 summit will be held for the first time in 2023 at Pragati Maidan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the New Exhibition Complex (Exhibition Halls 2 to 5) at Pragati Maidan today. "Spread over 72,000 square kilometres, 8 exhibition halls will be constructed. The new ICC Centre is currently under construction. Underground parking has a capacity of more than 8,000 vehicles," Union minister Piyush Goyal said. In order to facilitate smooth movement of traffic at Bhairon Marg and adjoining areas, 6 tunnels and one subway are being constructed.

Simultaneously, a metro and 6 tunnels are also being constructed to facilitate smooth movement of traffic in Bhairon Marg and surrounding areas. It is pertinent to note that keeping in mind the summit like G20, Pragati Maidan is being given a new look.
