New rules made regarding elections, every voter will vote wearing gloves

Dehradun: Due to the upcoming assembly elections, complete arrangements have been made by the Election Commission to deal with the growing crisis of Corona. On one hand, while every voter will be given gloves by the commission, on the other hand, PPE kits and sanitizers will be given to protect the polling parties as well. On the other hand, the duty of only those employees will be engaged in voting, who will have got both the doses of corona vaccine.

Regarding the prevention of corona in the same assembly elections, Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya said that so far about 99.9 percent of the employees in the state have got the first dose of corona while only about 78 percent of the employees have got the second dose. He has sent a letter to the Health Department that soon the second dose will also be given to all the employees as voting will be done for only those employees who will have got both the doses of corona vaccine.

The same Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya said that special arrangements will be made at all the polling booths to protect against Corona. Under this, PPE kits will be worn to all the employees engaged in polling. Whereas every voter who comes to cast his vote will have the facility of gloves and sanitizer. After applying ink, every voter will press the button of the EVM by wearing gloves.
