Hyderabad: Advocate Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy was sworn in as Judge of Telangana High Court today, August 4, 2022.

Around 10 am., Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy took the oath of office from Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan in the First Court hall on the HC grounds. First, the High Court Registrar General K. Sujana read the President's notification appointing the attorney as judge.

The new judge was then given the oath of office by the Chief Justice. In addition to the Chief Justice, the Telangana High Court now has 27 judges after Justice Vijay Bhaskar Reddy took over.

Once the President approves the appointment of six more attorneys as judges, whose names have recently been proposed for elevation as judges by the Supreme Court Collegium, the number of judges on the High Court is anticipated to increase to 33.

On Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu confirmed Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy's nomination to the Telangana High Court, and the Law Ministry subsequently issued warrants.

The Supreme Court Collegium had long before suggested Bhaskar Reddy's name along with 11 others, but his appointment was still pending. Bhaskar Reddy was chosen to serve as NIRD and AP Small Scale Industries Development Corporation's standing counsel in 1999.
